The coastal town of Lyme Regis with its sandy and accessible beaches, perfect for bathing and fossil hunting, is within 20 minutes.
Head east to stunning beaches at West Bay and Burton Bradstock both within 30 minutes. Or west to the gorgeous East Devon coast where you’ll find the beaches of Seaton, Beer, Sidmouth and more.

The Golden Cap - the highest coastal point on the South Coast is a 12 minute drive away. From the National Trust car park you have glorious walks through woods to the coastal path with stunning coastal views.
Stonebarrow with its coastal views, beautiful countryside and space is perfect for picnicking and pottering.
Colmers Hill with its panoramic views of the coast and countryside. Colmers hill is easily walkable from Symondsbury Estate (which also boasts a cafe, restaurant and shops)
The Holloways at Shute’s Lane and Hell Lane, also accessible from Symondsbury Estate.
Fabulous ancient sunken paths endorsed with mysterious and enchanting engravings.
Ancient Hillforts of Lambert’s and Coney’s castle with stunning views across Marshwood Vale. Accessible from National Trust carpark
The market town of Bridport, with restaurants, cafes, shops, art centre and cinema is 20 minutes away,
Bridport hosts a market on Wednesday and Saturdays.
The coastal town of Lyme Regis also has an array of restaurants, pubs, shops and is home to the Marine Theatre.
Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre (12 minutes away) has an amazing fossil collection and information displays as well as organised Fossil Hunting Walks.
Exeter is 1 hour away with a huge range of shops, entertainment and attractions
There are many country pubs in the area including two within 8 minutes drive or 45 minute walk. (The 5 Bells Inn and The Shave Cross Inn)

Felicity's Farm Shop is 9 minutes away and offers a wide range of produce, gifts, treats and groceries.
There is also a convenience shop in Charmouth (Nisa) where you can get basic supplies.
Larger supermarkets are found in Bridport (Morrisons, Waitrose and Lidl) and Axminster (Tesco). Lyme Regis also has a Tesco express, cooperative and bakeries.
There are 3 butchers in Bridport and a fishmonger in Lyme.
